I’ve been in healthcare since 1995.
I remember being a little girl sitting on the floor, while my granny lay sick on the couch. I would sit next to her, hold her hand and just listen to her stories. I knew then I wanted to be a caregiver.
I have a passion for seniors because they can go unheard and devalued at the most critical time in their lives. They have paved the way for us; this is one way we can show our appreciation. They deserve it! I strive to be that calming voice with an abundance of patience and pray that I will be blessed with such a caregiver when my time comes.

Ever since I was little, I can remember loving and having a connection to the elderly. I have a specific memory that comes to mind. I was 6 years old, walking hand in hand with my mom through our local mall and every elderly person I saw, I would smile a huge smile, look up at my mom and tell her I wanted to adopt them as my grandparent. Seeing them smile back at me made me so happy!
Fast forward to 2020, I was looking for a new job and when I saw a position available at Memory Care of Little Rock, I felt called to apply. When I called to tell my mom I got the job, she said “well that will be the perfect fit for you!” and she was right! I’ve been here since February 2020 and adopted 100+ grandparents! Serving our residents and their families daily is such a blessing in my life and brings me so much joy!

I have been a Licensed Practical Nurse for 15 years. Prior to being a nurse, during my teenage years, I was a "Candy-Striper” or volunteer from the age of 14 to 17 at UAMS hospital. The experience of my volunteer work every summer at the hospital kick started my love and compassion to continue to help those in need. I assisted in many areas of the hospital ranging from clerical, medical records, ER intake, surgery waiting rooms, social work, laser tattoo removals, maternity ward, baby nursery and Geriatrics.
I started my nursing career in Geriatrics, and I never left this field of nursing. This has always been something that I wanted to do. My Grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's when I was a teen. I helped with taking care of her with my family. I never understood the dynamics of the disease when she was experiencing it. I do know that it was many years of slow mental and physical deterioration. For this reason, I am understanding and compassionate to my residents and their loved ones. I have been an employee at Memory Care of Little Rock since 2016. It is a joy being a part of the Memory Care team. I always encourage family members to reach out to me for anything. I am always eager to assist. It takes a village to help anyone with memory issues. I love that Memory Care has many resources to assist residents in different stages of dementia. I am super proud to be working at this community.

Healthcare has always played a huge role in my life. I grew up helping take care of my dad and older sister after their back surgeries so that empathetic, selfless love it takes to work in healthcare was instilled in me at a young age.
I recall the moment I knew I wanted to work in healthcare. I was ten years old, severely dehydrated and the doctor said if my dad had waited one more hour I would have been gone. While my dad was in the lobby calling my mom, a sweet nurse snuck in with a little yellow and white flannel bear that had a red heart on its chest. She gave me the bear and reassured me that everything was going to be okay. That nurse didn’t just give me a sweet little gift to take home that next morning, she blessed me with the knowledge of how someone caring even in the smallest way can positively impact someone’s life. It was like she opened my eyes and showed me this amazing superpower. Even though I was little, I could still make a difference in the lives of the people around me.
I started my first job in the healthcare industry in 2010 and have been with Memory Care of Little Rock since August of 2021. For me, Memory Care of Little Rock has greatly impacted my life. It is a place where I get to help someone every single day and always have someone to love on. To work in this place has been such a humbling experience. It is a constant reminder of things we take for granted daily, and I am truly grateful that I can make a difference for our residents. I’m also very grateful for all they have taught me thus far. I love our residents as I love my own family and I cherish all the wonderful memories that I have been blessed with here.
